Who Is En Route RV services?
Quick answer: En Route RV Services is a family-owned mobile RV repair company serving Southwest Louisiana from a base in Sulphur, LA. Master Certified RV Technician Garth Frenzel and his team travel to RV owners across Lake Charles, Cameron, Moss Bluff, and surrounding parishes to diagnose and repair A/C systems, refrigerators, water heaters, furnaces, electrical issues, slide-outs, and more — typically completing repairs on-site during the first visit. Call (337) 381-2024 to schedule.
Mobile RV Repair in Lake Charles, Sulphur & Southwest Louisiana
When your RV’s A/C quits, your refrigerator stops cooling, or your slide-out jams halfway open, you don’t need a tow and a six-week wait at a dealership. En Route RV Services is owned and operated by an RVTAA Master Certified RV Technician. Every job our technicians run is backed by that expertise. We’ll dispatch to your driveway, campground site, or storage lot anywhere in Southwest Louisiana — including Lake Charles, Sulphur, Moss Bluff, Cameron, Westlake, Vinton, Iowa, Hackberry, DeQuincy, and Ragley.
What We Repair on Your RV – On-Site, Same Visit When Possible
Most calls we run in Lake Charles and Calcasieu Parish involve one of seven systems failing at the worst possible time. Here’s what we handle, and what to expect when you call.
RV Air Conditioning Repair
Louisiana summers are hard on rooftop A/C units. We diagnose weak cooling, frozen coils, capacitor failures, and full unit replacements — and because A/C calls spike from May through September, we keep common Coleman, Dometic, and Furrion parts stocked on the truck.
RV Refrigerator Repair
Whether you’re running a Norcold absorption fridge or a 12V compressor unit, we troubleshoot cooling failures, control board issues, and gas/electric switching problems on-site.
RV Water Heater Repair
Suburban and Atwood water heaters fail on ignition, gas valves, and electric elements. We carry the diagnostic tools and most common replacement parts on every call.
RV Furnace Repair
Southwest Louisiana winters are mild but real — and a furnace that won’t ignite during a January cold snap in Moss Bluff or Vinton needs same-week service, not a month-long shop appointment.
RV Electrical & Battery Diagnostics
Converter failures, inverter issues, 12V system faults, solar charging problems, and dead house batteries. We trace the issue back to the source instead of swapping parts and hoping.
RV Slide-Out, Awning & Step Repair
Stuck slides, motor failures, awning fabric and arm issues, and electric step malfunctions — common problems that strand owners in awkward setups at campgrounds.
RV Plumbing & Fresh Water System Repair
Leaks, pump failures, valve issues, and winterization-related damage we still see well into spring.
What We Don't Do
We focus on systems repair and maintenance. We do not perform collision/body work, full roof replacements, or chassis/drivetrain repair on motorhome engines. If you call with a need outside our scope, we’ll tell you straight and point you toward someone who can help.
Coverage Across Southwest Louisiana
En Route is based in Sulphur and runs daily routes across Calcasieu, Cameron, and Beauregard parishes. Lake Charles is our highest-volume market, and we maintain consistent coverage across every community below. If your location isn’t listed but you’re in the broader Southwest Louisiana region, call us — we’ll tell you honestly whether we can reach you and what the trip economics look like.

Meet Garth, Your Master Certified RV Technician
Garth Frenzel is one of a small number of RVTAA Master Certified Technicians working in Louisiana. The certification means he’s tested and credentialed across every major RV system — chassis, electrical, plumbing, propane, appliances, exterior, and brakes. It also means when he tells you what’s wrong with your RV, he’s drawing on formal training, not just “I’ve seen one of these before.”
His wife, Monique, runs the administrative and operational side of things. She is capably assisted by our Service Coordinator, Amanda, whose voice you’ll hear when you call (337) 381-2024. Amanda’s the one who confirms your appointment, manages the schedule, and handles warranty paperwork when applicable. Together, they’ve built En Route into the mobile RV repair shop that Southwest Louisiana RV owners actually call back.
How a Service Call Works
We get a lot of first-time callers who want to know what to expect before they pick up the phone. Here’s exactly how it works.
-
Step 1: Call or Request Service Online
Call (337) 381-2024 during business hours, and Amanda will walk through your issue, your RV’s year/make/model, and your location. If you reach voicemail, leave the same details and we’ll return the call within the same business day. You can also use the booking form online.
-
Step 2: We Schedule and Confirm
You’ll get a confirmation text within an hour of booking, plus a reminder the day before your appointment with the arrival window and technician name.
-
Step 3: Garth Arrives at Your Location
We come to your driveway, campground, storage lot, or job site with the truck stocked for your specific issue. The first visit includes the trip out and the first hour of certified technician time. If we have the part on the truck — which we often do for common A/C, water heater, and furnace components — we complete the repair right there.
-
Step 4: If Parts Need to Be Ordered
For less common parts, we’ll diagnose during the first visit, order the part, and schedule a return visit to complete the repair. You’ll know the cost structure upfront, including any return trip fee and parts pricing, before we leave.
-
Step 4b: Warranty Service
If you have an extended warranty, mention it when you book. We work with most major extended warranty providers and handle the claim documentation on our end so you’re not doing the back-office work.
Pricing: Straightforward and Stated Up Front
We don’t hide pricing. New customer service calls start with a $230 service call fee that covers the trip and the first hour of certified technician time. If diagnosis or repair extends past the first hour, labor continues at $155/hour billed in 15-minute increments. Parts are added at the time of repair.
For extended warranty calls, the trip fee structure is different — most warranty providers approve a $50 trip fee, and certified warranty labor is billed at $195/hour to cover the additional claim-processing work. We’ll confirm coverage details with you before scheduling.
Real Stories from Real Southwest Louisiana RV Owners
Frequently Asked Questions About Mobile RV Repair
Do you actually come to my RV, or do I bring it to you?
We come to you. Your driveway, your campground site at Sam Houston Jones State Park or any other Southwest Louisiana RV park, your storage lot, or a job site where you’re staying in your rig. You don’t have to tow your RV anywhere or wait for a shop to call you back. Our truck carries the tools and most common parts needed to complete repairs on-site.
How fast can you get to me in Lake Charles or Sulphur?
Our typical scheduling window in Lake Charles, Sulphur, and Moss Bluff is within 2–5 business days, often sooner during shoulder seasons. Cameron, Vinton, and our extended service areas may be scheduled around our weekly route through those communities. Emergencies — like a furnace failure during a freeze or an A/C failure during summer — get prioritized.
What does a service call cost?
A standard new-customer service call starts at $230, which covers the trip and the first hour of certified technician time. Labor beyond that is $155/hour, billed in 15-minute increments. Parts are quoted before installation. Extended warranty pricing structure is different — see our pricing page or call (337) 381-2024 for specifics.
Is Garth actually certified, or is that a marketing claim?
Garth holds the RVTAA Master Certified Technician credential — the highest certification level available in the RV repair industry. It requires written exams across every major RV system, plus documented field experience. You can verify the certification through the RV Industry Association if you’d like.
Do you work with extended warranty companies?
Yes. We’ve worked with most major extended warranty providers and handle the claim paperwork on our end. Mention your warranty when you book and we’ll verify coverage before scheduling.
What kinds of RVs do you service?
Travel trailers, fifth wheels, Class A motorhomes, Class B vans, Class C motorhomes, and toy haulers from all major manufacturers — Forest River, Jayco, Keystone, Grand Design, Thor, Tiffin, Winnebago, and more. We work on systems and appliances regardless of brand.
What's NOT in your scope?
We don’t do collision/body repair, full roof replacements, or motorhome engine/drivetrain work. If you call with one of those needs, we’ll tell you straight and refer you to someone who handles it.
Do you serve full-time RV owners and contract workers staying in their rigs?
Yes — that’s a meaningful part of our work. If you rely on your RV as your home or temporary worksite housing, we understand that downtime isn’t optional. Mention your situation when you call and we’ll factor it into scheduling.
